The sludge in your central heating system is something you never worry about until your boiler starts acting up or your radiators suddenly start developing cold spots on the bottom part of the unit. This sludge starts off as nothing more than some particles floating through the water in your central heating system but as time goes by more and more particles join together and your water supply becomes filled with something that has a consistency more like a thick soup than water.
When this is flowing through your radiators it starts to leave small deposits behind that eventually turn into lumps that eventually block up your radiators completely so they’re only lukewarm or stop working altogether. And the worst part of this is that you can’t see any of this going on from the outside – it all happens internally.
The only effective way to remove all traces of this sludge from your central heating is to have it powerflushed by the engineers here at ADI Powerflushing because our engineers can deploy the type of equipment to make sure that the most powerful powerflush possible takes place on you property. Once our engineers are finished working we feel you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how well your central heating is working again.

Hopefully your family or your business never wind up in a situation where you need to have your central heating system repaired. And this is something you definitely don’t want to have happening during the colder months of the year for that case. But the reality is that central heating systems can and do fail and they tend to fail when you least want or can afford them to. One example of which was when a clients central heating failed 7 days before Christmas and was repaired in time for the holiday season but only barely – the entire heating system had to be replaced.
They’d never performed any maintenance on their central heating system even though they’d had problems with one or two leaks in the past. A major part of their problem could have been avoided by simply having their central heating system powerflushed once every few years to keep their heating system free of the sludge that can cause the types of problems they had.
Some people look at what powerflushing costs and instantly think of it as an expense but it costs only a fraction of what it costs to repair an entire central heating system folks – that’s just how the maths works on that.

Because your central heating system has moving parts and multiple components it’s eventually going to suffer from problems of one kind or another. Outside of the obvious mechanical issues that can crop up there’s a far more likely condition that your central heating is going to suffer from. You see because there’s water flowing through your central heating system it provides a perfect way for dirt and grime to get carried from one point to another to cause problems.
As your heating system ages more and more dirt is going to build up inside it and form a type of sludge that coats everything it touches and eventually causes blockages at the bottom of your radiators because it eventually congeals and settles there. These blockages then cause cold spots on your radiators and can cause pretty serious problems for your boiler too if they settle there.
To remove this sludge from your central heating system you’re going to need the services of a professional team of engineers who can remove this problem permanently. That’s exactly the type of service on offer from ADI Powerflushing so please feel free to call us if you have any issues at all with your central heating.

A leak in your central heating system is guaranteed to do two things.
Firstly it’s going to annoy you and potentially cause a lot of physical damage to your property unless you find it and repair it.
Secondly you can be 100% certain the problem is going to get worse unless you have it repaired.
Or in short if you have a leak in your central heating system you’ll need to have it repaired as soon as you possibly can because what starts as a pinhole leak can quickly become a major breach if left untreated. This means that annoying trickle of water could quickly become a flood that ruins everything it comes in contact with and leaves you with the headache of dealing with insurance companies who are always, always reluctant to pay out no matter what type of cover you have.
Fortunately for you ADI Powerflushing don’t just provide powerflushing services – each one of our engineers is a fully trained plumbing and heating specialist too so if there’s a problem with your central heating system we can fix it for you regardless of what the cause might be.
And we think you’ll find our prices more than a little attractive to your pocket.

A modern central heating system is a very reliable set of heating elements and pumps that help keep your home warm during the winter and the rest of your home supplied with hot water for the rest of the year. Without modern central heating systems most homes would be unbearably cold during the winter (try turning your heating off during a bitter winter to test this theory) and the simply luxury of hot water would become a thing of the past. You only realize how important a working central heating system is when you’ve not had a hot shower in 10 days and you’re survivng on what water you can boil in your kettle.
So to keep your central heating system operating at its peak efficiency it’s important to have it serviced on a regular basis. The servicing that ADI Powerflushing offers is ideal for removing all of the sludge that’s gathered inside your central heating system and which has been causing you so many problems. Realistically your central heating system should be professionally flushed by us at least once every few years to ensure that those deposits of sludge are kept to an absolute minimum.

No matter how professionally or recently your central heating system was installed you’re eventually going to run into a problem with sludge clogging up the inside of your radiators and your boiler.
But where does this sludge come from in the first place?
You have water flowing through your central heating system and that same water contains tiny particles of dirt and sediment – no matter how well it’s been filtered. The same water can also have a corrosive affect on the copper pipes and other metal elements used in heating systems. This corrosion can lead to particles of iron oxide and other materials flowing around inside your boiler and radiators in greater and greater numbers until they turn into a sludge that eventually causes cold spots on your rads and serious problems with your boiler.
So is there some kind of central heating sludge remover you can buy? Well the honest truth is that the best way to remove all the sludge from your central heating system is to have it powerflushed by the team here at ADI – it’s the only way you can be certain the job was done properly.

A pressurised central heating system is one where there’s no feeder water tank involved. In the water tank reliant version a ball float was there to maintain a steady pressure in the central heating system with the extra water comes from the mains water supply once the ball dropped past a certain point – in much the same way that toilet cisterns work.
In the newer combination boiler systems there is no water tank present to maintain the water pressure level so the system needs to be topped up through something called a filling loop so that your central heating system is always working at a given pressure.
How can you tell what the pressure is? Well you’ll find a pressure guage located somewhere within plain sight because you need to monitor this and ideally top up your heating system on a regular basis. You should set a reminder for you to check the pressure level once per month.
Pressurised heating systems suffer from the same types of problems that normal central heating systems do such as sludge and the build up of lime scale inside them. So it’s still a great idea to call ADI Powerflushing to perform routine maintenance on your pressurised central heating system.

On the outside your central heating system probably looks perfect. There’s no sign of leaks and it starts up every time you turn it on so there couldn’t be possibly anything wrong with it? Or at least that’s the assumption you’re making.
The reality is that inside your central heating system there are particles of rust (iron oxide) and other materials floating through your boiler and radiators clogging things up inside there. At first you won’t even notice this because it all happens very quietly. But then you’ll notice that your heating costs are increasing for no apparent reason and then that your radiators aren’t giving out as much heat as they used to. The last sign of there being a real problem is that your boiler starts to make some very unsettling noises that you’re not going to be able to ignore.
All of the above are caused by the fact that those tiny deposits eventually form a kind of soupy gloop that clings to everything it touches and will eventually bring your central heating system to a screeching halt involving costly repairs and a cold home to boot.
What is the only answer to this problem? Call ADI Powerflushing now!

The good news is that you won’t need to use much guesswork to figure out if there’s air trapped in your central heating system. Why? Well when there’s air trapped in a human or animals digestive system you can tell pretty quickly because that air is going to follow the path of least resistance to escape – and in humans we see this in the form of burping.
In your central heating system trapped air can be pretty easy to identify because your system is going to make some pretty interesting noises when it’s turned on or shut down each time. One or two loud bangs can be enough of an indication that you have air trapped somewhere in the heating system. Or if your pipes rattle an awful lot when they’re heating up or cooling down that could indicate a problem with an air blockage too.
Fortunately enough trapped air can be released from a central heating system through a process called “bleeding” which means that you track down what section of central heating the air is blocked in and then provide a path for it do just that.
If you’re nervous about doing this type of work you can just call ADI in to do it for you instead – after all that’s why we’re here.
