How Does A Central Heating System Work?

Posted on: October 31st, 2011 No Comments

A standard central heating system will rely on water storage tanks, a boiler, thermostats, a fuel source and a central heating pump. The fuel source (oil, gas etc) provides the heat for the water in the boiler and the pump then pushes the water around the circuit of radiators that are placed in each room and hallway in your home.

Older central heating systems existed as one single unit so when you switched it on it heated the water, the boiler and your radiators all al the same time. Newer types of central heating operate on a zoned concept so that you can heat either your boiler water (for your sinks and bath) and your radiators separately. Not only that but you can also heat different sections of your home or business independently (why it’s called zoned heating) so that you can save a small fortune on your fuel bill and dramatically decrease your carbon footprint too.

Regardless of the type of central heating system you have and how it works you’ll eventually need the services of ADI Powerflushing so why not give us a call so we can chat about any potential problems you might have.
